One day, on the banks of the Black Warrior River, a man proposed to a woman that he met back in junior high. Although such sweet stories are becoming unconventional, these two could not stop the traditional flow of romance if they tried. These two sweethearts were Chase and Josie.

On October 8th, 2016, the two had an intimate and sweet wedding at the Mulberry Chapel located at Brierfield Iron Works. Surrounded by their family and friends, the two declared their love for each other and became husband and wife in a lovely and traditional ceremony. Josie couldn’t have asked for a better moment, for as she recalls her favorite part was, “Marrying my first love and becoming his wife before God and our family and friends.”

The two plan to continue down a dream together. When we asked Josie what their dreams for the future were, she replied, “We do have a new home, we have plans on remodeling and bringing my family farm back to life and adopting a fur child in the near future.” Since the two survived the trials and tribulations of junior high and high school together, we believe that their love will carry them through the currents of their lives.
