The idea of “high school sweethearts” is becoming a rarity in this ever modern world, but every once in a while you can find living sentiments that are a blast from the past, as is the case with Brittany and Charlie. The two met when she was in 8th grade, but didn’t start dating until she was in 10th.
Nearly seven years later, Charlie had planned to propose to her on Christmas Eve but got so nervous that he decided to jump the gun the day before and pop the question in her living room.
On September 17th, 2016 (the day after their seven-year anniversary), the two were wed at the Eclectic Warehouse in Eclectic, Alabama. Although the day went by in a blur, the bride looked darling in a corset back wedding dress from David’s Bridal and her naturally lovely looks were emphasized by a Glamour Werks event stylist. Her long-awaited groom waited for her at the end of the aisle in a grey and turquoise ensemble found at Men’s Wearhouse. As he did, she walked down to him escorted by her father and carrying a white hanging bouquet carefully assembled by Jenilyn’s Creations.
After the two kissed for the first time as husband and wife, they enjoyed their reception decorated by themselves, danced to music from DJ Steve Haynes, dined on food catered by D’Armond Catering, and celebrated with their friends and families. The cake that was the icing to the wedding was created by Girl Meets Cakes. After the two danced the night away, they swept themselves through a sparkler exit created by their loved ones to their honeymoon through Carnival Cruise Lines.
On this dream honeymoon, the two sailed out of Jacksonville, Florida to the breathtaking Bahamas. Along with getting to walk on the beach, the newly-weds got to swim with dolphins and stingrays!
Right now, the two are enjoying spending time together as husband and wife and talking about when to plan a family together. The new Mrs. Posey’s advice to new brides is to “Take your time, enjoy the experience. It’s so much and it all goes by so fast.”
