The idea of “high school sweet hearts” is becoming a rarity in this ever modern world, but every once in a while you can find living sentiments that are a blast from the past, as is the case with Brittany and Charlie. Read more →
Sometimes love has to be searched for, sometimes it is simply introduced to you. The latter is the case with Barbara and Nick’s story, who met through a mutual friend. Their first date was remembered for one fateful evening; Nick reenacted their first date, including finer details such as dinner and a walk at a local park. As the sun was setting, Nick declared that he loved Barbara and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He ended this by getting down on one knee and asking her the big question, to which she said yes.
Friends and family came to see the couple exchange their vows in a simple but sweet ceremony held at Montevallo First Baptist Church, where the bride attended services growing up. Her lovely floral arrangements for the ceremony were by Le Fleur, her timeless gown was from Something Blue Shoppe, and Nick’s tux came from Mr. Burch’s, creating the perfect traditional look. Barbara said that her favorite part of the service was during their first look, “Nick became speechless after seeing me.”
After sending the newly-weds off with a streamer send off, their loved ones joined them for the reception held at Liberty Hall located at the American Village in Montevallo, Alabama. Their darling cake, which completely captured the wedding’s “sweet” aesthetic, was catered by Rachel Rachels.
What is the new Mrs. Holcombe’s advice for new brides?
“Take a deep breath and breathe. You’ll love your wedding no matter what.”
